Who Are We?

CS Channel Sailing Club offers sailing to members on our yacht Sea Essay, a 2022 Dufour 390 based on the Hamble.

The club is a self-help organisation: Sea Essay is maintained by a team of volunteers and is made available to members at all skill levels for introductory day sails, training, private charters and “Sea Time”. Events are also organised to help members develop their skills through courses in boat-handling and sail-trim and and attain RYA qualifications through the Army Sailing Association.

The club is affiliated to the Civil Service Sailing Association (CSSA) which is in turn part of Civil Service Sport and Leisure (CSSC) also known as the Civil Service Sports Council.

CS Channel Sailing is managed by a committee in accordance with the club constitution.

Sea Essay is kept at Mercury Yacht Harbour on the River Hamble near Southampton with direct access to the Solent and English Channel.  CSSC members may charter the yacht for their own group use skippered by an approved CSSA Skipper.
